For centuries, women have been subordinated to the rules dictated to them by the society, religion and the state. The extent of what they can do has always been decided for them by others, leaving women to struggle within this oppressive structure that has been depriving them of their rights to education, equal pay and promotion, and the struggle is ongoing. There have also been some “lucky” women to receive education beyond what was thought appropriate for them, or those that succeeded in reaching their goals. However, most of these names are either unknown or forgotten. We have tackled this issue and aimed to honor and commemorate these names by reflecting their stories in our first product series, which mean “forgotten name” in Latin. We hope that their stories would be a motivation for those still struggling today, so that the history would not repeat itself and nullify the efforts of these names and many more unknown ones.
Here is ‘Nomen Oblitum’ product series, designed by Melda Yanmaz and produced by Molenore Team.
